Birmingham has the largest number of schools of any local authority borough in England.  This means parents have a potentially very large range of teaching options to select from.  If your child has special needs then depending upon the specific needs they have you have an even larger set of schools to understand and explore.

They are currently a total of 506 schools in Birmingham.  57 of these are Independent Schools whilst 449 are State Schools.  41 Schools are Special Schools of which 9 are Independent, the rest being State funded.

Of the State Schools, 45 have either a SEN Unit, Resource Provision or a mixture of both.
